SUMI 墨 BLACK ONSEN

Japanese ink color Onsen!!

There are many black color onsen (Kuro-yu) in Kanto Area, especially the Sento (public bath) of Tokyo. These Kuro-yu area was used to be under the sea 10000 years ago. In process of sludge being accumulated, the plant had decomposed to the organic matter (Fuming acid) in 10 thousands year. The groundwater mixed with Fumin acid has changed to black color.  Ooidekan is located at Shiobara Moto-yu. Siobara Onsen is pretty old and famous onsen, Moto-yu means start point for onsen town.

Ooidekan has three type onsen and the one of those is Sumi black onsen.
The water color of this Sumi Black onsen is completely different with Kuro-yu. From the intake transparent onsen water comes out and those clear water changes to Sumi Black color according to time goes on. This Sumi Black Onsen water can get plain white towel dyed black. Any one can’t see this black color onsen, anywhere of Ooidekan.

Yu-pon went Ooidekan a couple times. Yu-pon always wonders this Sumi Black onsen has a magic in the entry on the Sumi Black Onsen bathroom. Also Yu-pon loves the other one, named the Five Color Onsen which’s color is changing to milk white or emerald green on fine weather and gray on rain. Ooidekan used to be a quit local ryokan. In these days, it is going to popular by Sumi black onsen. It can say that Ooidekan was recognized a typical small size and local accommodation still. They have a daily tour for the Onsen.
