In early 1990th, we saw many vans had been parked along the way to bedrock bathing area of Tamagawa Onsen, situated on the side of snow wall with 4 meters in height . At that time Tamagawa Onsen closed its hotel, because of humongous snow in winter. People in the van were staying for cure by taking bedrock bathing. There were van coming from very far Prefecture in Kyusyu, like Miyazaki or Kagosima! Now the hotel is doing business in the winter too and New Tamagawa Onsen hotel was opened in 1998, so you will not see the line of vans anymore. Tamagawa Onsen is a famous for cure cancer disease.
