Pure blood color but warm you !!
Look at this picture. It’s completely red spring water. This picture was taken at the Blood pond hell which is one of Beppu 9 hells. Unfortunately, you can’t take a bathing up there,because hight temperature.
There are many red color onsen contains iron. The iron chemically changes its color by touching air.And this onsen water turn to red color. It is recognized that bathing in red spring water is good for your body giving warming effect. For a long time, Gold pond spring in Arima Onsen and Gold spring water in Ikaho Onsen are the famous red color onsen. You can find those kind red color springs elsewhere in Japan.
When you take the bath of red color onsen, you smell rust normally.
