Misasa Onsen 三朝温泉
Misasa Onsen was founded in 1163 AD. The temperature of this onsen is as high as 60°C, and the radium content is recorded at 683 mache (M.E.).There are two famous onsen treatment hospitals that use high M.E. onsen water.
Unfortunately, Yu-pon hasn’t had the chance to bathe in this onsen yet, but they have passed by it and are thinking of coming back.
The mache (symbol ME from the German Mache-Einheit, plural Maches) is a unit of volumic radioactivity. It is rarely used except to describe the efficacy of onsen waters. The unit was named after the Austrian physicist Heinrich Mache.
