HANAMI viewing spot
When and where should I go to enjoy Hanami(cherry blossom viewing)?

About Japanese Sakura
Japanese cherry blossoms are unbelievably beautiful. If you’re in Japan during March or April, you can easily find hanami festivals by checking the cherry blossom forecast in the media. This is a simple way to know when and where to enjoy hanami.
If you’re more interested in sakura, you should visit the sites of Japan’s three great cherry trees and the three most famous hanami locations.
In these areas, you’ll encounter classic varieties like Edo-higan and Shidare-zakura, rather than the more common Somei-yoshino. Yu-pon guesses that Somei-yoshino was developed in the late Edo period to suit urban environments, because its pale petals are beautiful, it has a pleasant fragrance, and it’s conveniently located for hanami.
However, the three great sakura and the three major hanami sites are steeped in history and cultural significance. The blossoms of Edo-higan and Shidare-zakura evoke a sense of classical elegance that sets them apart.
