Seeing the sight of disaster, the man named Taro Kappagawa did not like it and offered his money to promote construction to prevent flooding.There was a rumor that the one merchant saw a Kappa (creature believed to live in water with a saucer like shape on the head) in the Kappabashi area and much business luck followed it. Then this merchant became so prosperous after that. After this story Kappabashi area became Tokyo merchant’s Mecca and the place to hunt tools for professionals and merchants.Would you please take a chance to explore Kappabashi area if you are sick and tired of looking at typical Japanese souvenirs?
